Summer and Beyond

The Inner City Recreation and Wellness Program is in full summer swing, with lots of healthy outdoor activities happening (with sunscreen of course), including a Thursday morning gardening session on the LIVINGbridge. We arrive there at 9:30 a.m. to start weeding and watering, and everyone is welcome to join us.

You are also welcome to stay for the 11 a.m. ukulele lesson-jam led by instructor Bob Cook. To subscribe to our monthly calendar, please email recandwellness@gmail.com to be added to the list for all the updates.

Planning has already started for the fall, and I am happy to announce we will be running our fifth year of Making Strides with our partners Equinox Therapeutic Services and the Whitemud Equine Learning Centre from September to April. In addition, September will be harvest time out at Lady Flower Garden, so if you would like to help get vegetables out of the ground and to people who need them, drop me a line at the email address above.

Please also get in touch if you have ideas on how else the ICRWP can help increase the well-being of people in Central Edmonton. And until next time, have a great summer!

Rylan is the Program Coordinator of the Inner City Recreation and Wellness Program.
