“Women’s Rights Are Human Rights:” Women’s March Draws Thousands

An estimated 4000 people attended the Women’s March on Washington – Edmonton Solidarity Event on January 21, including many from the area. Edmonton was one of 25 cities across Canada and over 600 around the world that held “sister marches.” The event was entirely co-organized by three women, including BMC News Editor Paula Kirman, who took this photograph from the steps of the Legislature, where it was held.
