Audition for Heart of the City

Festival seeking musical acts

Heart of the City is back! Help us celebrate our eleventh year by submitting your request to volunteer you or your group’s performance to be featured in 2014. We are currently seeking musical solo or group acts to partake in the Heart of the City Music and Arts Festival. Part of the rich cultural climate in Edmonton’s core since 2004, this year’s free two-day festival takes place during June in Little Italy’s Giovanni Caboto Park.

We are committed to the neighbourhoods that make up the heart of our city. One of the primary considerations for artists to participate in this festival is their affiliation with one of the nine neighbourhoods that comprise Edmonton’s core. All visual artists and at least 50% of the members of a musical act must live, work, volunteer, or go to school within the designated boundaries (south of Yellowhead Trail, north of the North Saskatchewan River, east of 124 Street, and west of 75 Street).

All levels of talent are welcome to submit their entry, and submissions can be made online. Why not schedule an audition? Drop by in person, we’d love to hear from you. Contact us to schedule time to audition, or make an online submission at: “heartcitymusic@gmail.com”:mailto:heartcitymusic@gmail.com.

Submissions for the audition process must be made by April 10 2014.

We will be holding auditions on:
April 17 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. (unplugged only)
April 26 and 27 from 1:00-4:00 p.m.
