Bike Ride For a Cause
A few years ago, I had an opportunity to ride with about 30 to 40 riders for the Canadian Paraplegic Association. It was a 100 km ride that started and finished at Rundle Park.
We rode through the city then into Gibbons, where we had a rest. Then, it was on to Bon Accord and back to Gibbons. We returned to the city via a different route and went on Fort Road, stopping at the Croatia Soccer Club for a rest.
When we got back on our bikes, we headed past the Evergreen Cemetery, where we all made a right – except for one rider who made a left and got lost in the trailer park. Fortunately, he eventually caught up with the rest of us and even received a prize for the being the oldest rider at 73 years of age.
This ride took most of us about three and a half hours. The speedy ones who did not stop for a rest took about one hour and 45 minutes to two hours.
I am hoping to do this ride again because I had a great time.
