Furry Friends
I enjoy seeing my daughter enjoy her furry friends. We have three cats that can be a handful. They have become a part of our blended family. Their names are Copper, Princess Mohican, and Lee.
Copper is an older cat although I am not sure how old he is. He is actually my eldest son’s cat. When Jason was 12 he wanted a pet, so I got a cat from my brother’s family. She was kind of a mean cat and she ran away to one of our neighbours.
Jason was upset about losing his new cat so I decided to take him to the pet store in the mall. There was a beautiful orange tabby cat named Copper.
My son and his friend transported Copper home – now that was a sight to see; two young boys trying to haul this cat in my son’s sweater without the cat escaping.
When some of my kids were becoming teenagers, we had to move. Unfortunately, we had to leave Copper at our old home until we could get set up.
Copper was fine at our former residence until one day he was catnapped. Years later, when I was sitting in my kitchen contemplating the times with my kids and the pets we have had in our lives, I started thinking of our old friend Copper. I wondered what happened to him.
Out of the blue, I received a letter in the mail. Copper was in the holding facility of the SPCA. He is now back in our home with my family.
Lee, the other male cat, came to join our family unexpectedly last year as a kitten. He was a gift for my daughter. He was an abandoned kitten on the bus, but he gained a new home.
A little drop of faith is like sunshine in the morning. It brightens our day and makes me smile. Faith makes a world of difference when I am missing an old friend, even if he is a furry one.
