Inner City Rec and Wellness

Happy March everyone! Even though warmer spring weather is surely just around the corner, our weekly winter activities are still going strong. This, of course, includes Wednesday snowboard visits to Snow Valley (leaving at noon from Boyle Street Community Services), drop-in soccer and basketball at Boyle Plaza from 2-4 p.m. on Thursdays, and floor hockey there too on Fridays from 1-3 p.m.. All equipment is provided for these activities and there is no cost.

Ukulele lesson/jams with instructor Bob Cook happen alternating weeks at Boyle Street Community Services (March 6 and 20) from 10:30-11:30 a.m., and at Bissell Centre (March 13 and 27). And no need to bring your own uke – we’ve got you covered!

On Saturday March 14, Lady Flower Gardens is organizing an Aboriginal Teaching Day with Russell Auger out at the farm. Spaces are limited, but if you would like to join us, please contact Rylan Kafara at rkafara@bissellcentre.org by March 7.

You can also like us on Facebook at Inner City Recreation and Wellness Program. And don’t forget: On Mondays and Fridays, the Pet Food Bank at Boyle Street Community Services is open from 9:30-11:30 a.m. (unless otherwise posted).

Rylan is the Program Coordinator of the Inner City Recreation and Wellness Program.
