The 8th annual Community Action Dash is  a 5k/10k Race (run or walk) put on by Action for Healthy Communities (AHC).

The Community Action Dash is a fundraiser for Action for Healthy Communities (AHC), an Edmonton based organization with a mission to build stronger and healthier communities through a community building process that fosters citizen participation and action to improve the health of the community. AHC supports thousands of marginalized Edmontonians to work with others in addressing community needs and issues by creating and running mini projects called Community Initiatives. 

As well, the Community Action Dash is involved with the organization Start2Finish, a reading and running mentor program designed to empower kids for life. This program consists of volunteers that partner with children once a week to partake in physical activities, a running log, reading, and journal entries – all with the intent to provide enhanced literacy and physical activity among economically challenged children in the community. The Dash is partnered with Start2Finish to provide an opportunity for the children of the program to be a part of our 5km/10km walk or run and achieve their training goals.
