Bicycles, Poetry, Ukeleles, and Floor Hockey

The Inner City Recreation and Wellness Program is happy to announce it is launching a new youth bicycle program in the spring! As soon as all this snow is gone, we are going to start learning how to build and repair bicycles. Participants will even get to keep their bikes when they’re done. We are looking for volunteer mentors to help teach youth all the nuances of the best form of two-wheeled transportation, so if you would like to help out, please drop me a line!

If biking isn’t your thing, we have all kinds of other programs, including a new music appreciation class for kids taught by Lindsey Walker, a spoken word and poetry program led by Shima Robinson, and many other creative activities, like a weekly ukulele lesson-jam with Bob Cook!

And don’t forget our Pet Food Bank is open at Boyle Street Community Services on Monday and Friday mornings, and we play floor hockey every Friday afternoon at Boyle Street Plaza! For more information on these and other programs we offer, please drop me a line at recandwellness@gmail.com.

Rylan is the Program Coordinator of the Inner City Recreation and Wellness Program.
