Kingdom Comes to McCauley

When I was recovering from a recent illness, I discovered I needed to relax and find a place to unwind. I usually like to sing and rehearse with my fellow brothers and sisters at Hope Mission. It really helps to unleash all of that tension or hidden pain and just worship God in song. As a musician and singer, it also helps me to just let loose at the chapel at the Herb Jamieson Centre.

When my band Micah was performing at a concert at the Herb Jamieson, we met a few people who were starting a Christian night club. I thought this was an incredible idea and something we were looking for in our community.

This new establishment is called Kingdom. Kingdom is located on 97 Street and 105 Avenue in the old Ukrainian Pentecostal church. The idea behind Kingdom is to build a Christian community in the Arts and Entertainment field, as well as with workshops and dramatic performances.

The nightclub was first opened in mid-March on Friday and Saturday evenings, but meetings there are currently not on a regular schedule.

A note to my wonderful community – if you see me in the neighbourhood please say hello. I am often out and about, because enjoying the fresh air and sunshine sure makes a wonderful day and puts a warm smile on my face.

Clara lives in McCauley.
