A Business With Compassion
A great place for authentic Italian Cuisine is Sorrentino’s Bistro Bar (10844 95 Street). The location was originally a family grocery store many years ago. It has long since been converted into a quaint bistro reminiscent of Tuscany. “Intimate” is the right word to describe Sorrentino’s Little Italy.
Along with a stunning menu and great specials, there is a lot of caring behind this business. If you are not familiar with Sorrentino’s Compassion House, here is a brief history.
Several years ago, the family became aware of a significant need here in Edmonton. Women in northern Alberta who are facing the challenges of breast cancer must travel to Edmonton to receive diagnosis and treatment. This often means leaving their families, friends, and homes for an extended period at a time when they need their support, while also incurring significant personal expenses for accommodation.
Sorrentino’s financial gift to the Key to Compassion Capital Campaign enabled the construction of Sorrentino’s Compassion House, which has been providing accommodation and support to these women and their families since September 2003. Not only do those who require accommodation benefit from the home, but so do hundreds of patients and their families from Edmonton who wish to utilize Sorrentino’s Compassion House as a resource and support centre.
So, support a business that is into compassion, caring, community, and cannelloni! This location of Sorrentino’s is closed Sundays and offers delivery in our area. Because of its reputation and popularity, reservations are recommended! Call (780) 425-0960.
Sorrentino’s also has more locations throughout Edmonton. Check out www.sorrentinos.com and find them on Facebook!
