Lots of Good Things at the Rink

Partnerships have been built and renovations are coming soon.

Lots of good things are happening at the McCauley Skating Rink this winter. We are proud of the relationships we’ve built and grateful to these partners, which include the City of Edmonton, KIDS, E4C, Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation, Edmonton Oilers Alumni, and many others who continue to support the McCauley skating rink. A huge thank you to all of them: without their support we would not be able to offer such successful events and programming, nor would we be able to keep the facility in such good operating condition or be able to offer snacks and hot chocolate daily, making it a warm, safe, and welcoming place for all.

The McCauley Community League is very excited about what the future brings working alongside these partners. As we wrap up the 2014/15 skating season we will start working on the renovations at the rink. Thanks to the generous gift of $61,213.49 from the Edmonton Oilers Foundation and Hockey Canada we will soon be getting players boxes, puck board on the inside of the rink, and some additional improvements. As soon as the snow dries up the renovations will start – stay tuned for updates in future BMC News stories.

In the next edition of “Around the Rink” I will be giving an update of stats for the 2014/15 skating season and will have a story on the Family Day skating party.
