Happy May! Our theme this month is “Food” and the paper is full of all kinds of “goodies” on this topic. We also have some profiles of people and businesses making a difference in the area, and coverage of local events.

In our April issue, we reported on the SDAB’s decision to allow Arden’s Varimart to open a liquor store across from Norwood Park. The final decision from the SDAB was supposed to have come down in late March. As of press time, a decision still has not been presented as further meetings have been taking place on this contentious issue. We will be following up on this as soon as we hear anything – those of you plugged in to the Internet should keep checking our website, Facebook and Twitter, and we will also follow up in our print edition.
