October 2013

October is here. The leaves are changing colour and falling from their branches. Our theme this month is Seniors, and many of our columns reflect the lives, needs, and issues pertaining to the older population of the area.

We also have our usual array of community news and event coverage, particularly a centrespread on East Meets West. It is hard to believe this colourful celebration is already five years old!

At BMC News we value our volunteers, and have a few new faces to welcome. John Hooper lives in Boyle Street and is currently writing our Dining Out column. He is also a Block Carrier. Rich Gossen and Anne Fitzpatrick live in McCauley and have taken over a route from one of our carriers who moved away.

Some of you have commented on the paper’s new look. Yes, we are a bit smaller and sleeker now, and are loving the extra pages of colour!

We are always looking for new contributors and carriers, so if volunteering with the paper is something you would like to try, just get in touch with me.
