Embracing the Sunshine
I embrace with open arms the hot summer days arising in the McCauley neighbourhood.
As a child I used to enjoy being outside, basking in the hot sun. Today, I am usually trying to stay in the house where it is cooler. With that being said, I treasure the nice weather that the good Lord has given us.
I have lately been reminiscing of the mountains and when I had a fun filled trip to B.C. My niece and her family live in Langley and I would love to make another trip out there sometime. Despite the long drive through the many towns along the way, I just felt so enthralled by the majestic mountains. They are very beautiful but at night they seem so overwhelming with their size and shadows.
I had an enjoyable time playing music for the people in the park at the Heart of the City Festival with a band I am a part of called Micah. Summer is always a great time to check out local events. I am grateful to my brother Frank who is a wonderful hard working volunteer in McCauley, who lets me know of events going on.
Summertime is time to be happy and time for thanksgiving to spend quality time with family or friends and just get in some rays of sunshine. Lately I have been rejoicing with gratitude for having good neighbours and feel fortunate to be a part of such a great neighbourhood.
Here is a suggestion: be grateful for each day and everything you have, for we only have one life to enjoy.
Maybe I will see some of you around the neighbourhood at events in the near future.
Clara lives in McCauley.
