Soccer Season Wraps Up in McCauley
There are so many to thank for a successful soccer season. First, a BIG thank you to the McCauley Community League, for supplying all the shorts, shin guards, socks, jerseys, balls, nets, flags, whistles, first aid kits, team photos, and footing the bill for our year end party!
Thank you to KidSport which paid registration fees for more than 20 kids from the neighbourhood. A big thanks to Jumpstart, which, through the Boys and Girls Club, registered six kids. Special thanks go out to the Boys and Girls club staff for driving kids to and from games. Thank you also to Tim Hortons and BMO Bank of Montreal for the U6 and U8 jerseys that they supply to our teams year after year.
Thank you to the Edmonton North Zone Soccer Association, for all their hard work scheduling over 400 teams in the north zone and dealing with all the rain-out rescheduling mayhem. Thank You City of Edmonton, for cutting the grass and lining the fields, especially since it was such a wet spring!
Thank you to the coaches who have given their time working with the kids, emailing parents, and hauling equipment to and from the field at least two nights a week.
Thank you to the parents for their dedication in getting the kids to the field on time, providing support to the coaches, and bringing fruit and water to the field. As well, thank you to the volunteers, who did many jobs behind the scenes like setting up nets, field marshalling tournaments, and handing out medals for ENZSA.
Last, but not least, thank you to the children, the athletes, whose smiles, laughter, and endless determination inspire us grown ups, keep us young , and who make it all worthwhile!
