Common Ground Returns!

Caboto Park illuminated by Common Ground in February of 2011. Paula E. Kirman

In a wonderful turn of events, Common Ground will be returning after all to Giovanni Caboto Park on February 10 and 11.

Common Ground is coordinated by the Edmonton Winter Light Society. The theme of the event is finding “common ground” through the sharing of culture. The event includes participants from the Aboriginal, African, Italian, and Asian communities, as well as the many other cultures that make Edmonton home. The event will feature heritage shelters, multicultural tea ceremonies, snow play activity for children, warming fires, hot chocolate, and special presentations. A Leadership Circle will bring together people interested in fostering winter spirit and culture in the inner city. The event is free, and everyone is welcome. Make sure to check out www.winterlight.ca for more information.
