First Annual Quarters Cup
On June 5, we held the first annual Boyle McCauley Floor Hockey Tournament at Boyle Street Plaza. Called the Quarters Cup, we had over 30 participants from the community who battled in the most sportsmanlike way possible for floor hockey victory.
In the end, the illustrious team known as Undefeated, was, well, undefeated. As you might have guessed, they named themselves after they won. iHuman sponsored an award for sportsmanship, which in the inaugural year of the tournament went to Graham Fry. Congrats to Graham, the Undefeated, and all the participants!
Of course, we could not have had any fun without TONS of community support. Thanks to Christine and everyone at the Boyle Street Community League, the Calgary Foundation, iHuman Youth Society, Thrive Family Church, FunTeam Alberta, Sport Central, the Alberta Future Leaders Program, and Volunteer Alberta!
Hope to see everyone again next year at the Second Quarters Cup. In the meantime, we still play drop-in hockey every Friday at Boyle Renaissance Plaza from 1-3 p.m.
