By the time you read this, it will be early July (or thereabouts) and hopefully beautiful and warm outside. Our July/August issue always has a summer theme because there is so much to enjoy and celebrate during the summer months.

We have quite the roundup of community news and events, especially our Heart of the City photo spread and coverage of the first True Friends of McCauley awards banquet. I was honoured to be a part of this diverse group of honourees and celebrated the fact that so many of our past and present volunteers were among the recipients.

We take a break over the summer but will be back in September with the theme of “Life Lessons,” followed by “Hobbies” in October, which will focus on recreational and leisure activities besides sports, like crafts and games.

However, just because we’re not publishing a physical paper doesn’t mean the news is stopping. Check our Facebook page and website (bmcnews.org) for information on upcoming events and announcements.
